About Sagun Maharaj

Pandit Sagun Maharaj is a Hindu Priest, Vedic Astrologer, Palmist, Vastu consultant and much more. He was born in a remote village in Nepal in the valley of Annapurna range of mountains and on the banks of the holy river, Kali Gandaki. Following the traditions of his Hindu Brahmin community, he began performing Hindu religious rituals from a very young age and have gained much knowledge and wisdom in the process. He is very well trained in vedic philosophy and underwent several years of formal education in all Hindu scriptures and Sanskrit literature.

After completing his formal school education in Nepal, he moved to India for specialised studies in his chosen fields of interest.

From the early age of 10, he studied in a Gurukul (traditional school) in New Delhi, India for 3 years (2002 to 2005), specialising in Yoga and other spiritual studies.
He studied Astrology In Bharat Ashram, Haridwar, India under Yogesh Guruji, for a period of one year in 2006.

He studied Puran, Astrology and Sanskrit grammar for 4 years (2007 to 2011) at Sampoornanad Vishwa Vidyalaya, Varanasi, India.
He also studied Vedas for 4 years at Malayal Swami Matt, Varanasi, India during the same period.

He studied Sanskrit Grammar at Muktinath Peeth Ved Ashram, Mysore, South India for a period of one year.
His mission is to serve humanity across all divisions of geography, nationality, religion, faith, caste, color or
creed, as he believes in “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” meaning all living beings on earth are one family.

Work Experience

Current: (2016 – todate). Head Priest at Shree Hindu Bhagini Samaj,  Kamuli, Uganda  (7 years), performing all Hindu religious ceremonies and rituals at the temple and for the Asian community, providing sermons on spiritual matters and religious aspects, arranging and organizing special ceremonies on various Hindu festivals and religious holidays. 

Also the founder of Shree Ganesh Temple Charitable Trust, Kamuli, Uganda. The activities include providing food, clothes and medicines to the underprivileged section of the local population free of cost, especially during the Pandemic.

Previous:
Head Priest at Gujarati Shiva Temple, Nairobi, Kenya and Sanatan Dharma Mandal, Nairobi for 3 years (2013 to 2016). Work included all Hindu ceremonies and rituals at both the temples and also to the Asian community in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.

Priest at Hindu Sabha Mandir, Toronto, Canada for 3 years (2010 to 2013). Work included all Hindu ceremonies and rituals at  the temple and also to the Asian community in and around Toronto.

Served as a free-lance Priest for one year at Race Course , Chanakyapuri, Delhi, India, offering Hindu priestly services and also discourses on Bhagawad Gita.

He has also assisted in many Bhagwat kathas along with Pujya Bhaishri Ramaeshbhai Ozha.

Two years at Fogla Ashram and ISKCON temple, Vrindavan, India, where he taught Bhagawad Gita and  Sanskrit grammar.
